Fridays are a day for fun, so I wanted to share with you some things I’m really loving this week! I love a good recommendation and to know someone has tried it before me, and I’m hoping you’ll feel the same. Here are a few things that really helped make my week. What are you loving this week? I’d love your recommendations!
Ms. Rachel Hollis
I love all things Rachel Hollis and have for some time. I’ve followed The Chic Site and her personal social media channels for years, I have her cookbooks and loved my autograph copy of Girl, Wash Your Face and read Girl, Stop Apologizing the day it came out! Having the book club guide is amazing! It’s the extra push I needed to actually implement some of the things I learned about while reading Girl, Stop Apologizing and keeps my goals and my why top of mind. If you’re not following Ms. Rachel Hollis – you definitely need to start! She gives me so much motivation, comic relief, and mentorship daily.

Being a working mom is hard. Which is not say that being any other kind of mom, is not hard. You talk about what you know. With both of my babies, I was blessed with 12 weeks of maternity leave. 12 weeks to be a stay at home mom, and I loved it. But I also love material things, challenging myself analytically, and having a passion and purpose outside of being a mom. I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished in my career. I’m so lucky that I work for a company where I was able to earn my freedom to work remotely, but please don’t think that came cheap. Yes, I work from home 4 days most weeks. Yes, I know that’s an option many don’t get, but I also worked a lot of nights and weekends, I gave it my all, when all I wanted to do was quit. I did this before marriage, before kids, and even worse, while pregnant with my son. I worked so much I lost sight of what I was working for and didn’t enjoy being a mom of a baby and pregnant with another on the way. As a mom who works, and works from home, I also work in the car, at doctors’ appointments, I take calls when I would rather not, but sometimes I eat lunch with my kids, or call it a day at 3:00 to go to the park, and just get glimpses into their daily Monday to Friday world. This post is so true. We need to stop being so antiquated in our thinking, just because. Sometimes it’s amazing how progressive the world has gotten in some areas, and yet not at all in others. There’s not always a need to be tied to an office, chair or desk in this connected world. And I can promise you, I’m a better employee because I’m not.
And on a lighter note, these shoes by Native
I bought these shoes for both of my babies for Easter and it was the greatest decision ever. They are cute, functional, and best of all easy to clean in this sometimes rainy, muddy season. Linc got the Victoria Blue and Lulu got the pink.
These pretzels are amazing. You have to try Dot’s Pretzels. They have the perfect seasoning mix with just a hint of spice. I can’t get enough. I started seeing them on Instagram a few months ago, and couldn’t understand the hype, they’re just pretzels, right? but then while walking the aisles of Menard’s I saw them and decided to give them a try. They do not disappoint! Now I’m looking for excuses to go to Menards.
Boho Link Bracelets. I love a bracelet stack, and it’s even better when the hard work of picking the stack is done for me! I love this gold-toned set, but the black beaded one is quite pretty too!
